A Truckers Wife
It's not easy being a trucker's wife
It's a kind of strange and lonely life
Here today, gone tomorrow..
Gone all week, Oh what sorrow.
Give them a call, when times get tough
Ma-Bell says.."keep in touch."
You dial the number to the truck,
No one answers, just your luck.
Where could he be? You sit and wonder.
Could you have dialed the wrong cell number?
A few hours later things seem right,
he calls you up, said he was having a bite.
Now it's the weekend, he's hot and tired.
You pick him up at the yard.
Two days later it starts again,
As a truckers wife, it never ends.
